I love it, Mama! And I love what you said about Daddy’s health. I was actually thinking about this the other day and am going to leave it in a comment so I don’t forget to tell you guys:
I was thinking about how King Asa in the Bible ended up dying from a stupid foot disease because “Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the LORD, but only from the physicians.”
Asa’s name means healer. Yet he chose to trust the doctors. I picture God sitting there with the healing but Asa ignoring him. Which is such a difference from when he was in battle and said, “LORD, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. LORD, you are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.”
He forgot to rely on God. He relied on doctors and tests and what his eyes could see.
I just believe that our little Asa will be a reminder to RELY on God and know that we are powerless without him. And Daddy won’t see the death Asa did b/c he (we) will seek help from God!
“LORD, there is no one like you to help this powerless BODY against the mighty. Help us, LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this DISEASE. LORD, you are our God; do not let mere SICKNESS prevail against you.
{whew, I might need to write a post about that!}
